FIRST GRADE

FAIRY TALES + CONNECTION WITH NATURE

Spanish: Children learn the alphabet in capital letters with their sounds, through verses, stories and art; they listen to stories that develop their oral comprehension, the ability to follow sequences, increase their vocabulary and leave a valuable emotional experience. They perform diction exercises, rhymes, poetry, phonemic awareness, and begin to read simple words and verses. They also learn basic score.

Mathematics: children experience the shapes and qualities of numbers in connection with nature and art, develop the numerical sense, learn the four basic operations from the whole to the parts, practice mental math and counting.

Drawing of Forms: In the first degree this subject has special emphasis, since it facilitates the development of laterality, the fine motor, and opens the way for the learning of writing.

Arts: Through fine arts and music, children develop physical and cognitive skills, but first of all, they work their artistic sensibility from an early age, and find tools to express and enrich their inner world. They study music, pentatonic flute, singing, watercolor, modeling in beeswax.

Other subjects: Agriculture and nature, manual work, English, movement.

 
 

SECOND GRADE

EXPLORING THE HUMAN POTENTIAL AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CHOICES + CONSEQUENCES

Spanish: We continue to progress with the reading and writing of small texts created by the teacher and the children as a whole, based on stories told in class. They write sentences and perform oral exercises. They learn the letters in lowercase, and work with more precision in the handling of the space in the paper and in the own body. Emphasis is given to reading based on the texts written by them.

Mathematics: They learn the multiplication tables, and continue with the mental math and the four basic operations, but using numbers with more digits. We work with numerical and rhythmic patterns that allow us to continue developing the sense of number and the relationship between the four basic operations.

Arts: Drawing of forms, poetry, singing, music, pentatonic flute, watercolor, modeling in beeswax.

THIRD GRADE

SELF-CONFIDENCE THROUGH SOLVING PRACTICAL PROBLEMS: AGRICULTURE, CONSTRUCTION, HEBREW LEGENDS, CREATION STORIES

Spanish: Begin the study of the grammar, structure and parts of the sentence, in a creative and artistic way. We deepened punctuation, capitalization, basic spelling, paragraph writing and oral exercises. Reading class is now also included.

Mathematics: Continue to memorize multiplication tables until 12, study measures of length, weight and volume using the body as a reference, learn the basics to recognize prime numbers, work the four operations vertically. The first steps are taken studying money and time.

Construction: Children study different types of homes in different cultures and times, and develop a house model using the techniques learned.

Agriculture and Farm: The agriculture class takes special importance in this grade, giving children the opportunity to have practical experiences that connect them to the earth and allow them to discover their own abilities to live in the world.

FOURTH GRADE

EMOTIONAL SELF-AWARENESS + OBJECTIVE REASONING: NORDIC MYTHOLOGY, LOCAL HISTORY, GEOGRAPHY, ZOOLOGY

Spanish: They study verb tenses, adverbs, prepositions, personal pronouns, deepen grammatical rules, the use of plurals, abbreviations, written composition, rules of spelling, poetry, and oral exercises.

Mathematics: Begin the study of fractions, factoring, divisibility, prime and integer numbers, and written problems and mathematical puzzles. Work continues with the 4 basic operations that are increasingly complex.

History and Local Geography: They learn about the locality where they live, and the customs, economy and way of life that are derived from the geographical characteristics of the place. Children thus begin to find their place in the world.

Zoology: They learn about animals and their relationship with the environment and the human being. In addition to academic learning, we seek to achieve greater self-awareness through animal qualities, as well as a sense of respect and love for the natural world.

HARMONY IN THE MIDPOINT BETWEEN CHILDHOOD + ADOLESCENCE: ANCIENT INDIA, PERSIA, EGYPT, GREECE, LOCAL GEOGRAPHY, BOTANY

Spanish: They deepen in grammar and spelling, study synonyms and antonyms, homonyms, and work composition with emphasis on descriptive writing, book reports, letter writing, syntax, and dictionary use.

Mathematics: Decimals, mixed numbers, reciprocity, metric system, and freehand geometry with a strong artistic sense are introduced.

Music: Music education acquires a new level, orienting itself to the formation of ensembles and expanding the selection of musical instruments.

Arts: Drawing of forms, poetry, singing, diatonic and alto flute, stringed instruments, musical ensembles, watercolor, wood carving

SIXTH GRADE

SEARCH FOR THE BALANCE BETWEEN INDIVIDUALITY + THE DESIRE TO BELONG: ROME, ISLAM, GEOGRAPHY, GEOMETRY, GEOLOGY

Spanish: The subjunctive mood, conditional sentences, transitive and intransitive verbs, possessive, adjectives, phrases and clauses, syntax, review of the eight parts of the sentence, paragraphs, expository narrative, descriptive, contrast, schemas, letters of business, spelling, and expository oral exercises.

Mathematics: Mathematics becomes practical and interests, percentages, gains and losses, averages, exchange rates, money, proportions, and estimation are studied. The study of arithmetical sentences, and the introduction to the equations are started. He continues the study of geometry with an artistic sense.
